System Intensive Seminar

Diary of an Affiliate Marketer

Now I must admit that spending £1200 to attend The System Intensive Seminar in London is not cheap … well it may seem that way at first, but by Sunday night I knew it was the best £1200 I had spent since starting to make money online.

It was my first meeting with Ken McCarthy after being introduced by Perry Marshall. If Perry recommends something, I listen, because it’s normally good … and yet again he was right!

Today Ken introduced us to The System which is the systematic and scientific way of making money online. Ken was the first person to put together a conference specifically for marketing online and has been educating successful people ever since.

Whilst other internet conferences have come and gone, the shear quality of Ken’s System Seminar has ensured it has endured and increased in popularity for those fortunate enough to be invited.

At the morning session it was already apparent that everyone was there for one purpose only… to learn and expand their knowledge from the experts on hand.

Each of the guest speakers is handpicked by Ken to deliver up to the minute topics and the atmosphere was intense.

Today’s speakers were:

Ben Hunt of Save the Pixel fame. Ben is well known throughout the web design world as one of the foremost web designers who understands the ‘science’ of building a website for success and not just to please the eye.

Ben goes into the topic in great depth in his book Save the Pixel which was launched to rave reviews in 2008.

Ben spoke at the System Seminar in 2008 and was back this year as a student!

Yes even the great amongst need to continue learning their craft and expand their knowledge.

It was interesting to hear Ben talk how he didn’t realize how much he didn’t know until he attended last year and which was why he was here this year!

Next up was Mark Atwood who took the skip hire (dumpster) industry by storm in the UK turning a very ordinary business into a multi-million pound company that has now expanded into other fields relating to the building industry.

Mark specializes in SEO and has now started teaching his methods in the UK.

We then received a surprise. One of the all time greats Drayton Bird made a surprise appearance. Drayton is one of the UK’s masters of direct marketing and has spent years in the business honing his skills.
If you ever get a chance to see this guy don’t miss it. It’s one experience you will never regret.

Drayton was followed by Ben Jesson and Karl Blanks Their company was the first company in Europe to be recognized by Google as training experts for Google Analytics.

Their knowledge for getting conversions and sales was amazing and the tools they showed us to use (many of them free) to collect data and fully understand how visitors were interacting with our websites was mind blowing.

These guys deal with major companies recognized worldwide and take their websites to a new level, and here they were at our conference sharing their knowledge.

Amazing!

Whilst the speakers were worth every penny and every second of my attention one of the real rewards for attending the seminar was meeting all the other attendees from all over the world.

Never have I been in the company of a group of people who were willing to share everything they could with you to push you on to new levels of achievement online. I made a lot of new friends on day one with each of us genuinely interested in helping each other.

People specialising in Google Adwords, seo, web design, affiliate marketing, selling their own goods online and a whole lot of other skills too many to list here.

At every break during the day people gathered together sharing ideas and knowledge leaving you overwhelmed with all that you realized you didn’t know and how much it was going to improve your online earnings when you returned home!

It’s funny when I think that I sat in front of my computer pondering over the price and wondering whether this seminar could be worth that amount of money and here I sit after day 1 already thinking … how cheap!

I always listen to Perry Marshall when he dishes out advice and when I meet him I’m going to personally thank him for introducing me to Ken and The System.

Even at the end of the day when the speakers had finished everyone retired to the bar, yes for a drink, but more importantly to carry on exchanging ideas and experiences and developing friendships and contacts which can only improve my business 100%

This has been a life changing event and I can’t wait for tomorrow, day 2 of The System Intensive 2009, London.

One last thought. Today must have been incredible because Saturday for me is normally sports day and it hasn’t even crossed my mind until 2 minutes ago as to how the team I support got on today?

Great news was they won!
