Diary of an Affiliate Marketer
Life as an affiliate marketer isn’t all glamour, sports cars and more. A lot of the tasks are time consuming and laborious at first.
I say at first because one of the keys to becoming very successful online is knowing when to start paying others to do a lot of the work for you so that you can concentrate on the more important tasks or tasks that you enjoy and oversee the rest.
There probably isn’t a single task that is required to be completed to achieve online success, that can’t be contracted out. Let me explain in a bit more detail.
Running a successful website requires various skills. Copywriting, web design, Google Adword campaigns, seo, coding, tracking, converting etc. A lot of this work can be contracted out and in a cost effective manner.

When you are dealing with a world pool of labour there are always plenty of people available with the necessary skills at very good prices.
So, if you want an article written, or a website design from fresh or modified, or anything to do with online marketing there are plenty of people with the right skills waiting to bid on new work.
At present I have elected to carry on with most of the work as I have always believed that a good manager understands each of the roles in his or her organization and I want to make sure I fully understand each of the tasks involved before I contract out to someone else.
By understanding the difficulties of each task I am able to control the project better.
For now I am continuing to put the new layouts into effect on my websites and will then be able to spend my time on my new affiliate theme. It’s frustrating because I want to start now but I know I have to do this work first.
One tip I was given which I have found a great time saver is to turn the sound off on my computer. I used to let mp3’s or video’s play in the background so that I was subconsciously learning as I worked on the computer.
However, one big distraction is the sound of a new email arriving. Every time one arrived I would have to see who it is from in case it was important!
This is one of the most distracting things for many people trying to work online and last year I was given a great tip. Turn the sound down and don’t look at your inbox until all your work is done.
That way you don’t get distracted and end up deviating from the work you should be doing.
I have found that simple tip one of my biggest time savers and I find myself concentrating on the work at hand a lot better.
At last! All the layouts are completed, the Google Adsense adverts are in place and I’ve added a few more affiliate links on product pages to increase sales.
Tomorrow I can move forward on my new projects and I can’t wait to get started!
