I’m beginning to get into the habit of writing 2 articles a day now on top of the other work that has to be done and I’m pleasantly surprised that it’s not that hard to do.
I failed my English examines the first time and had to re-sit them which really upset me at the time because I hated English as a subject. Maths, that was easy and a great subject but English, yuck!
Now here I find myself spending the majority of my time writing because that is what a website is, a collection of web pages all linked together around a common theme. All of these individual pages receive their own ranking and link together to form your website.
Google puts even more value on the content these days as it strives to bring valuable unique content back in the search queries for its visitor. That is where you and I can win. By posting new, fresh, original content each day you begin to rank highly with Google and your pages get indexed quicker.
When I was first aware of this I struggled because its not easy finding something to write about every day on your theme. Well at least I thought it wasn’t until one of my virtual Board of Directors James Martell told me how to get started.
James Martell is a master of seo, search engine optimization, and he shared a method he uses to write unique content every day, Monday to Saturday.
If you go onto Google’s search engine and type in your main keyword for your topic + news Google’s search engine will bring you results pages full of news about your topic. So for one of my websites Florida scuba diving you would enter ‘Florida scuba + news’ or ‘Florida scuba + press release’ and wait for Google’s search engine find the information for you.
Once you a news story you can read it, do any research necessary and write a 500 -750 article about the news story in your own words providing fresh, original, unique content for your website.
You can even arrange to have the news stories sent to you.
How?
By subscribing to Google Alerts. Google will ask you to enter your keyword or keywords and will sent you alerts each day as they happen. For example, to continually update my Florida scuba diving website I have Google Alerts for ‘Florida scuba’, Miami scuba’, ‘Key Largo’ scuba … you get the idea. These alert provide a goldmine of news stories and anything my visitors may be interested in.
Using the information provided by the alerts I’ve now developed the habit of writing every day providing even more reasons for people to find my website on a topic they were interested in. As the website grows and matures with this content the website gets better in the eyes of Google and continues to rank higher and higher thereby increasing the traffic, sales and income.
I may have started off disliking English as a subject but you know, it’s beginning to grow on me now!
One last thing I would like to share today. I can’t remember where I read it but I know it’s true. If you do something every day for 30 consecutive days it becomes a habit, it becomes the norm. If you want to make money online get into the habit of writing an article every day. It’s easy when it’s the norm!
